The Shark Tooth Scout core journey
Use this sequence to understand the main flow. Individual screens and labels may evolve with updates, but the product goal remains consistent: find the tooth. read the clues. know the shark.
- Plan a lawful, safe hunt: Check public access, collecting rules, weather, water hazards, and the local tide window before leaving.
- Read the beach: Look for shell lines, gravel pockets, recent erosion, and exposed layers where denser material may collect.
- Photograph the tooth clearly: Use even light, a plain contrasting background, a straight camera angle, and a visible scale when possible.
- Compare the visible clues: Review crown form, edge pattern, size, root shape, cusplets, curvature, and surface appearance instead of trusting a single trait.
- Save an honest field record: Keep the photo, date, measurement, beach, optional coordinates, notes, comparison status, and the uncertainty that remains.
How to know the session worked
A strong field record preserves the find, documents the visible evidence, states uncertainty clearly, and can be reviewed later without relying on memory.
