This policy is specific to Public Beach Finder
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Public Beach Finder app and the Public Beach Finder pages on the Goodale Studios website. Other Goodale Studios apps have their own privacy policies.
Public Beach Finder does not require an account and does not include third-party advertising, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs. The current app does not request your device location.
Beach catalog and conditions requests
When the app refreshes, it requests the current public-beach catalog from a hosted Goodale Studios data service. When you open a beach, it may request conditions using that beach's public catalog identifier. The service does not need your name, email address, favorites, search text, or device location to answer these requests.
The data service and its hosting providers may process routine connection information such as IP address, request time, requested route, response status, and technical device or browser information to deliver, secure, diagnose, and maintain the service.
NOAA and National Weather Service data
Public Beach Finder uses NOAA Tides & Currents and National Weather Service services to provide tide predictions, forecasts, and active alerts. A request uses a public tide-station identifier, a public beach identifier, or the selected beach's catalog coordinates—not your device location.
If the hosted conditions service is unavailable, the app may contact NOAA and the National Weather Service directly. Those services may receive routine network information such as your IP address and request timestamp under their own policies.
Favorites and search
Favorite beach identifiers are stored locally on your device. Search text and amenity filters are used on the device to filter the downloaded catalog. Goodale Studios does not receive your favorite list or search text through the current app.
You can remove a favorite inside the app. Deleting the app removes its local favorites from that device, subject to Apple backup and restore behavior.
Directions and official links
When you choose Directions, the app opens Apple Maps with the selected beach's public catalog name and coordinates. Apple processes that request according to its own terms and privacy practices.
When you open an official source, water-quality page, or other external link, the destination website may receive routine connection and browser information and applies its own privacy policy. Public Beach Finder does not control those third-party services.
Website access and support
The Goodale Studios website host may process routine technical request data, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp, to deliver and secure the website. Website activity is separate from favorites stored inside the app.
If you email support, Goodale Studios receives your email address and anything you choose to include. That information is used to answer your request, investigate problems, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. It is not sold or used for targeted advertising.
Children's privacy
Public Beach Finder does not ask users to create an account or publish content. A parent or guardian should supervise a child's beach visits, map use, external links, and any communication with support. Contact us if you believe a child sent personal information to support.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated as Public Beach Finder develops. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. For privacy questions, email peter.goodale@icloud.com and include Public Beach Finder in the subject line.
