This policy is specific to DosePrompt
This Privacy Policy applies only to the DosePrompt iPhone and Apple Watch apps, the DosePrompt Apple Watch complication, and DosePrompt-specific pages on the Goodale Studios website. Other Goodale Studios apps have their own privacy policies.
DosePrompt is designed to keep medication information private and under your control. It does not require an account and has no Goodale Studios app-data server, advertising, behavioral analytics, or third-party tracking.
Privacy at a glance
Medication and adherence information you enter is stored locally on your devices. DosePrompt does not transmit that information to Goodale Studios or a third-party service.
- No DosePrompt account or login.
- No Goodale Studios server for medication or adherence records.
- No advertising, analytics SDK, cross-app tracking, or data sale.
- Direct transfer between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch through Apple Watch Connectivity.
- User-controlled backup export and complete in-app data erasure.
Information stored on your devices
DosePrompt stores medication names, dosage text, instructions, reminder times, scheduled weekdays, pause status, optional remaining quantity, refill thresholds, quantity per dose, dose-status history, notification preferences, and app setup state.
This information is used only to provide DosePrompt’s features. Goodale Studios cannot view, retrieve, correct, or remotely delete it because DosePrompt does not send it to a Goodale Studios server.
iPhone and Apple Watch communication
DosePrompt transfers medication schedules and dose status directly between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple’s Watch Connectivity framework. When one device is temporarily unavailable, Apple’s framework can queue an update for later delivery to the paired device.
The next-dose complication reads information from an App Group container shared only by the DosePrompt watch app and its complication. DosePrompt does not use CloudKit or a Goodale Studios server for synchronization.
Notifications
If you grant permission, DosePrompt schedules local notifications on your device. Notification content can include a medication name, dosage text, and instructions and may be visible on the lock screen or Apple Watch according to your notification and device settings.
You can disable or change notifications at any time in system settings. DosePrompt does not send notification contents to Goodale Studios.
Backups, sharing, and deletion
When you choose Export Backup, DosePrompt creates a JSON file locally and opens Apple’s document or share interface. You choose the destination. That destination may receive sensitive medication and adherence information and applies its own privacy practices. Goodale Studios does not receive a copy through DosePrompt.
Restore Backup reads the file you select and, after confirmation, replaces the current DosePrompt records. Erase All DosePrompt Data removes medication and adherence information from the app and communicates the deletion to the paired watch when available.
Dose-status events are retained in a rolling 365-day history. Copies in Apple device backups or destinations where you exported a file remain governed by those services and must be managed separately.
Free access
DosePrompt is free to download and use. It has no purchase price, advertisements, subscriptions, in-app purchases, paid feature tiers, or account requirement.
Health and safety
DosePrompt is a reminder and tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, recommend medication or dosage, provide treatment, verify that a schedule is medically appropriate, or replace instructions from a clinician or pharmacist.
Do not rely on DosePrompt as your only source of medication information or for emergency care. Confirm medication decisions with a qualified clinician or pharmacist and contact local emergency services for an emergency.
Support and website access
DosePrompt does not send medication or adherence information when you open a support link. If you email support, Goodale Studios receives your email address and anything you choose to include and uses it to answer your request, investigate problems, protect the service, and meet legal obligations.
Do not include medication names, dosage details, adherence history, backup files, or other sensitive information unless necessary. Redact identifying details when possible.
The Goodale Studios website host may process routine technical request information, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp, to deliver and secure the website. Website activity is separate from locally stored DosePrompt content.
Security
DosePrompt relies on Apple’s app sandbox and device security features to help protect local data. No storage method is perfectly secure. Protect your devices with a passcode, keep their operating systems current, and consider whether medication details should appear on your lock screen.
Children’s privacy
DosePrompt does not ask users to create an account, publish a profile, or provide information to Goodale Studios. A parent or guardian should supervise a minor’s use and medication routine. Contact us if you believe a child sent personal information to support.
Your choices
Because Goodale Studios does not possess your locally stored DosePrompt content, support cannot retrieve, export, or remotely erase it for you.
- Edit, pause, resume, or delete medications in DosePrompt.
- Change dose statuses or undo an entry in Today or History.
- Decline, disable, or change notification access in system settings.
- Export a backup to a destination you choose.
- Erase all DosePrompt data from Settings or delete the app, subject to Apple backup settings and separately stored exports.
- Ask us to review or delete a support message by emailing support@goodalestudios.com, subject to records we must retain for security or legal reasons.
No sale or tracking
Goodale Studios does not sell DosePrompt app data, share it for cross-app behavioral advertising, or use it to track you across apps or websites. DosePrompt does not request App Tracking Transparency permission because it does not perform tracking.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when DosePrompt’s features or legal obligations change. This page will show a revised effective date, and App Store privacy information will be updated before a release that materially changes data handling.
