Seashell Scout Support
For help, include the app version, device model, iOS or Android version and a short description. Please do not send a full backup or exact location unless you choose to share it. The app is coming soon; no public download is available yet.
support@goodalestudios.comWhen can I download Seashell Scout?
Seashell Scout is coming soon for iPhone and iPad, and a separate Android version is in preparation. Official store links will appear after release. The iOS app was submitted to Apple on October 10, 2026; review and release are still pending.
What if a shell remains unidentified?
Use one shell per photograph, check focus and add only traits you can see. The bundled guide has limited coverage. Save the find as unidentified and add notes; unknown and failed comparisons do not use the free daily allowance.
How do I protect my collection?
Use Settings → Create portable backup and save the file somewhere you control. Full backups contain original photo metadata and optional exact coordinates. Import supports Merge or Replace. The app has no account-based photo recovery service.
How do I restore Pro?
On iOS, use Restore Purchases with the Apple account that owns Seashell Scout Pro. On Android, use the Google Play account that owns the separate Android one-time product once it is available. A pending purchase unlocks only after the store confirms it. A refund or revoked purchase removes premium access but preserves existing records. The planned US price is $4.99 once; each store shows the local price before payment. Purchases do not transfer between Apple and Google Play.
Which features need a connection?
The journal, bundled guide and local photo comparison work offline. New NOAA tide predictions, store purchases, iOS maps, external links and advertising where enabled require a connection. Cached tide predictions are labeled and expire. The current Android build has no map or active advertising.
Are suggestions guaranteed identifications?
No. Suggestions combine local image comparisons with recorded traits and explain supporting, conflicting and missing clues. Independent species-level accuracy has not been established. Do not use suggestions to judge edibility, handling safety, legal collection or wildlife status.
