Scope and privacy at a glance
This Privacy Policy applies to the ScrapValue app for iPhone, iPad, and Android and to the ScrapValue-specific pages on the Goodale Studios website. Other Goodale Studios apps have their own privacy policies.
The ScrapValue mobile app does not require a Goodale Studios account and does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking. Goodale Studios does not sell ScrapValue data. The public Goodale Studios website may use privacy-friendly aggregate traffic measurement as described in the separate website Privacy Policy; website analytics cannot access private ScrapValue app records.
On-device information
ScrapValue stores calculator inputs, material selections, custom or quoted prices, saved loads and sales, favorites, settings, load and material photos, receipt images, recognized receipt text, and a cached Pro entitlement on your device so the app can remember your workflow.
Yard profiles are created by you. They may include a yard name, contact name, phone number, address, notes, quoted material prices, and price dates. ScrapValue does not search for nearby yards or obtain this information from a location service.
Goodale Studios does not receive this private app information. On Apple devices, a Pro user may choose to place a complete versioned ScrapValue backup in the user’s private iCloud Drive container for backup and device-to-device merge. On Android, the operating system may include eligible app data in the user’s Google backup and device-transfer service according to the user’s platform settings. Apple or Google governs those platform services.
ScrapValue does not publish, crowdsource, or share user receipts, load photos, or material photos. Camera capture, image processing, and receipt text recognition run on device. Images and extracted receipt details remain within private app storage and the platform backup path selected by the user.
Official yard-posted prices
A separately gated partner service may allow an approved scrapyard to publish its own business identity, public contact information, location, and material prices. Before activation, Goodale Studios requires proof of control of the yard’s business website domain and manual review. Yard publisher credentials are stored only as cryptographic hashes, and submitted prices require moderation before publication.
Official yard-posted data is business information supplied for public display; it does not include app users’ private records or receipts. Published prices may expire and remain estimates subject to grade, preparation, quantity, deductions, and final scale weight. The partner service remains disabled until verification, operating procedures, and partner terms are ready.
Purchases and platform services
ScrapValue Pro monthly and annual subscriptions, Lifetime purchases, and restore checks are handled by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play where offered. Those providers process your store account, payment, purchase, renewal, cancellation, and transaction information under their own privacy policies. Goodale Studios does not receive your payment-card information or store-account password through ScrapValue.
ScrapValue receives the verified purchase status needed to unlock Pro and stores a cached entitlement on the device for offline use. Existing owners of the original lifetime product keep permanent Pro access. When you choose to call a saved yard or request directions, your device opens the relevant phone or maps service, and that provider applies its own privacy practices.
Support messages
If you email support@goodalestudios.com, Goodale Studios receives your email address and the information you choose to include. Support correspondence may be kept as reasonably necessary to answer your request, maintain support records, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations.
Include ScrapValue in the subject line, but do not send passwords, Apple or Google account credentials, payment-card details, government identification, or sensitive customer information. Redact personal information from screenshots before attaching them.
Security, changes, and contact
Protect access to your device and review any information before sharing or opening it in another app. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but keeping private ScrapValue records on your device or in your private platform backup limits what Goodale Studios can access.
