About these terms

Effective October 10, 2026. Seashell Scout is provided by Peter Goodale under the Goodale Studios publishing brand. These terms apply to the app, including prerelease use. Public App Store availability is still pending.

Nature observations

The app provides educational reference comparisons and a personal journal. A suggestion is not a guaranteed identification, expert certification, collecting permit, wildlife assessment, appraisal, edibility determination or handling advice. Do not rely on it to decide whether an organism is alive, protected, safe to handle, lawful to collect or valuable.

Photograph first. Leave occupied shells and wildlife undisturbed. Check the rules where you are.

Your records

You retain your photographs and notes. Use material you have the right to import and share. Local records are under your control; create backups before replacing a device or removing the app. The app has no account-based recovery service.

Pro and Apple purchases

Seashell Scout Pro is a one-time non-consumable purchase, not a subscription. Apple shows the price and handles payment, restore eligibility and refund requests. A verified entitlement removes ads and unlocks the listed premium features. Revoked access does not delete your saved collection.

Android purchases

The separate Android version is being prepared for Google Play. Its Pro product is a one-time managed in-app purchase, not a subscription. Once available, Google Play will show the local price and handle payment and restoration on the Google account that purchased it. Apple and Google Play entitlements do not transfer between platforms. The Android product is configured in Google Play, but public availability still requires release approval and purchase testing.

Third-party services and sources

Google advertising, Apple purchases/maps, NOAA predictions and linked websites operate under their own terms. Reference photographs retain their attributed licenses. Source details are available in guide profiles and the bundled license manifest.

Availability and support

Features that depend on third-party services may be unavailable offline or outside supported regions. Tide predictions do not replace local conditions, access rules or navigation information. Contact support@goodalestudios.com for support. Nothing here limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
