Agreement and Apple terms
Effective August 30, 2026. These Goodale HVAC Fieldbook Terms of Use supplement the Apple Standard End User License Agreement that governs your license to the app. If these Terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA, the Apple Standard EULA controls. These Terms do not replace rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
By downloading, purchasing, or using Goodale HVAC Fieldbook, you agree to these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Licensed use
Goodale Studios grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Goodale HVAC Fieldbook on Apple devices you own or control as permitted by the Apple Standard EULA and applicable App Store rules.
The app is licensed, not sold. No ownership of Goodale HVAC Fieldbook source code, design, formulas, documentation, trademarks, or other intellectual property transfers to you.
Professional-use limitations
Goodale HVAC Fieldbook is a calculation, organization, and documentation utility. It is not a substitute for a licensed professional engineer, qualified technician, commissioning authority, code official, instrument manufacturer, equipment manufacturer, project specification, safety program, or legally required design process.
The app does not control equipment, monitor life-safety conditions, certify a system, approve a design, guarantee code compliance, select equipment, or determine whether work is safe. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for safety-critical, regulatory, medical, environmental, contractual, or financial decisions.
Calculations, inputs, and verification
Results depend on the values, units, signs, instrument readings, assumptions, formulas, and operating conditions you provide. Field approximations may not account for every fluid property, altitude, sensor limitation, equipment characteristic, system interaction, code requirement, or project condition.
You are responsible for checking inputs and outputs, confirming units and measurement locations, using properly maintained instruments, reviewing formula notes and limitations, and independently verifying results against current project documents, authoritative references, manufacturer data, applicable codes and standards, and professional judgment before acting on them.
Company, customer, and project information
You are responsible for having lawful authority to enter, store, use, export, and share company, customer, site, technician, equipment, project, measurement, deficiency, instrument, approval, and signature information. Enter only information reasonably necessary for the work and follow your employer’s privacy, retention, security, and records policies.
You are responsible for reviewing every PDF, CSV, backup, note, measurement, and calculation before sharing it and for choosing an appropriate recipient and transmission method. Goodale Studios does not receive or approve app-generated project reports.
Local storage and backups
The current release stores app records locally and does not provide Goodale Studios cloud sync, cross-device collaboration, or a developer-operated recovery service. You are responsible for device security, backups, record retention, and exporting important work before deleting records, replacing a device, or removing the app.
Acceptable use
You may not reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it; interfere with its operation or security; use it to violate law or another person’s rights; misrepresent app output as a certification, approval, or guarantee; or remove proprietary notices.
Availability and changes
Goodale Studios may improve, correct, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue app features. We do not guarantee that every feature, formula, file format, operating-system version, or external link will remain available or unchanged. Keep independent copies of records needed for business, legal, warranty, or regulatory purposes.
Third-party services
Apple, email providers, messaging services, cloud-storage providers, and other destinations you select operate under their own terms and privacy practices. Goodale Studios is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or content after you choose to send or open it.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Goodale HVAC Fieldbook is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or suitability for a specific system, project, jurisdiction, or decision. Rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Goodale Studios and Peter Goodale will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost work, lost data, equipment damage, callbacks, project delay, business interruption, or claims arising from reliance on app inputs, outputs, reports, availability, or third-party services. Any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Changes, severability, and contact
We may update these Terms when the app, business model, or legal requirements change. Continued use after an update means the revised Terms apply to the extent permitted by law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
Questions about these Terms or Goodale HVAC Fieldbook may be sent to support@goodalestudios.com.
